What is billed
Freddy AI Agent includes 500 sessions once per account, then $49 per 100 sessions on top of seats. Because the free 500 don't renew, a team that runs Freddy on real volume is past them in the first month or two. After that every session is billed.
A session is a 72-hour window, not a single message. Several exchanges with one customer count once. That is genuinely fairer than per-message billing.
What a month costs once the free 500 are used, AI fees only, seats not included:
| Sessions / month | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | $98 | $1,176 |
| 500 | $245 | $2,940 |
| 1,500 | $735 | $8,820 |
| 3,000 | $1,470 | $17,640 |
The agent-side assistant, Freddy AI Copilot, is a separate add-on at $29 per agent a month, billed annually, on Pro and Enterprise.
What Freshdesk does well
- Every plan comes with 500 free AI sessions to try it, a one-time allowance per account rather than a monthly one.
- A session is a 72-hour window, not a single message. Several exchanges with one customer count once.
- Growth starts at $19/agent/mo billed annually, the cheapest entry point of the four.
How to keep the bill flat
Session packs can be bought in any size, so the meter can be managed. It cannot be removed: more AI conversations always means more sessions. The alternative is to run the AI on your own key, where a support answer costs cents from any major provider (the arithmetic is here). A helpdesk built that way charges per agent and nothing per conversation. That is Kerux.
